What you get

  • MSMEs get paid early by having approved invoices discounted by multiple financiers, without recourse to the MSME
  • From 15 October 2026, every central public sector enterprise must settle invoices for goods and services bought from MSMEs through an RBI-authorised TReDS platform (section 15A of the MSMED Act)
  • Companies and CPSEs with turnover above ₹250 crore must onboard on TReDS (notification of 7 November 2024)
  • Budget 2026-27 announced a CGTMSE-backed guarantee for invoice discounting on TReDS, a GeM to TReDS link and TReDS receivables as asset-backed securities

Who can apply

  • Businesses that are already running.
  • Open to businesses in manufacturing, services and trading.
  • Micro, small and medium enterprises.
  • Udyam registration is needed. It is free.
  • The buyer must also be on the platform and accept the invoice

How to apply

  1. Register as a seller on any RBI-authorised TReDS platform
  2. Upload invoices raised on buyers registered on the same platform
  3. Once the buyer accepts, financiers bid and the best bid is paid to you

Worth knowing

Five platforms operate. Invoices worth ₹3.47 lakh crore were discounted in 2025-26. The Budget 2026-27 guarantee and GeM link were announced, launch not confirmed.
